Winter Intern Program: San Diego, CA. This is a three week program that begins the third Tuesday in December and runs through the first Friday after January 1st. This program is designed to give 2L and 3L law students exposure to the work environment in the Public Defender’s office including courtroom appearances. It is recommended but not required that all winter interns be certified by the California state bar. Students may be certified by the bar if they have taken civil procedure and evidence classes. More information can be found at the State Bar of California site at calbar.ca.gov (see “practical training of law students” in the special services section).
